Carly has a first class honours degree in law. While at university she was awarded the Highest Achievement Award, provided free legal advice to members of the public and participated in the National Mediation Competition.
She also started her own Make Up and Beauty Society and since joining Slee Blackwell Solicitors she has put this experience to good use by specialising in cases where beauty treatments have been negligently carried out.
She understands that with social media and the number of celebrity influencers on the rise many people are attempting to ‘get the look’ and undergoing cosmetic procedures to keep up with the latest trend. Problems can arise when the people carrying out these treatments are inexperienced or unqualified. Carly works hard for the best results for her clients and recognises how important it is for her to be right at their side throughout the legal process. Alongside her beauty treatment claims, Carly also represents clients who have been injured at work or in a road traffic accident. She has had a number of notable successes including a negotiated a settlement against the NHS Litigation Authority for a hospital visitor who had been scalded by a member of staff. Liability had been denied throughout but Carly’s determination saw an agreement reached just days before trial.
Carly is continuing with her post graduate studies and aims to soon qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive.
