PIP solicitors Slee Blackwell help British victims claim compensation
If you have been a victim of the Poly Implant Prosthèse (PIP) breast implant scandal and have not already received compensation in the UK courts then you now have the opportunity to bring a claim in the French courts.
A French judge has ruled that the German company, TUV Rheinland, which was paid to supervise the manufacturer of the implants, failed to do so properly. TUV has been ordered to pay compensation because it failed to carry out unannounced inspections on the manufacturer or check the company was using medical grade silicone. This judgement is being appealed by TUV. If the appeal is dismissed, TUV, a company with extensive assets in Europe, will be required to compensate PIP victims.
The French action is open to women in the UK, but strict time limits apply.
The likely award from a court in France is expected to be between £5,000 – £15,000, possibly more, depending on personal experience.
