Our specialist cosmetic surgery team has recovered compensation totalling £20,000 for a woman who suffered negligent breast surgery.

The woman had a breast augmentation carried out by a cosmetic surgeon, but after surgery she found that her implants had dropped and she needed corrective surgery. Unfortunately this led to further complications arising as the revision surgery resulted in the woman’s nipples being left in the wrong position. It appeared that the surgeon had removed too much skin above the nipples, leaving them around 2 cm higher than they should have been, and visible above the cup of her bra.

Understandably the woman was very unhappy about the situation and contacted us about making a compensation claim for negligent breast surgery. We assessed her case and offered to deal with her claim on a no win, no fee basis.

Not long after the claim was submitted the legal representatives of the cosmetic surgeon who had carried out the surgery made an offer of settlement. However we did not feel that the sum offered was enough and on our advice she rejected the offer.

To boost the legal claim we commissioned a medical report from an expert in cosmetic surgery. The report was highly supportive of the case and confirmed that our client would have to undergo a third operation to correct the error, resulting in further scarring to her breasts.

This resulted in an out of court settlement being negotiated that resulted in our client receiving compensation of £20,000.
