Slee Blackwell Solicitors have provided Braunton FC women’s team with a new kit to boost the newly formed club.
The Braunton FC women’s team started up last May, and includes mix of ages (ranging from 20 through to 60) and abilities. Some of the women have never played football before, including our very own Emma Reed. Emma is a partner in our commercial department in Barnstaple. She lines up on match days alongside three sisters and two ex police officers.
The team will be joining a league next season but for now they are gaining much needed experience by playing friendlies. They are also playing in the People’s Cup 5-aside tournament and have a game lined up in Plymouth. The ladies won their inaugural match against Fremington 8-0 on AstroTurf. Unfortunately their first match on grass didn’t go so well, with the team going down 9-2. Part of the problem was the lack of a goalkeeper. Even Pep Guardiloa might struggle to win games without a ‘keeper.
So if you would like to get involved then Emma would love to hear from you at [email protected]
And if you fancy giving it a go between the sticks, then Slee Blackwell will provide you with a nice new pair of keeper’s gloves!
