Bideford solicitors, Slee Blackwell have been appearing in a different type of ‘court’ in recent weeks.
All work and no netball can make life in the legal world very mundane. So in order to let off some steam and expend some surplus energy, the Slee Blackwell staff have taken time out from the law Courts to don their trainers in favour of the the netball court.
The firm has put together a team to compete in the local Bideford netball league, which plays its games every Thursday evening. And it didn’t take them long to notch up their first win of the season, beating their opponents 6-5 in a hard fought contest.
“It was a fabulous evening,” said Slee Blackwell partner and family law specialist Jen Law. “Any type of exercise is great, particularly team sports It helps with relaxing at the end of the working day and builds friendships outside of work. It was a brilliant game and so lovely to get the win on a wonderfully warm and sunny evening.”
“There’s an excellent team spirit, demonstrated by the fact that Mia was there to cheer her colleagues on despite the fact that she couldn’t play herself after picking up a ligament injury in the previous game.”
