Free wills in Barnstaple, Bideford and North Devon through the National Free Wills Network.

Our wills and probate team in North Devon are members of the National Free Wills Network. This means that we are able to offer free wills in Barnstaple, Bideford and throughout North Devon.

You can read here about how we received a Certificate of Appreciation from the NFWN for raising £2,666,400 of future charitable income under the scheme.

To participate in the scheme you will need a Free Wills Pack from your chosen charity. There are currently 199 charities belonging to the scheme, including many household names.

Member charities include:

  • Huntington’s Disease Association
  • Help for Heroes
  • Marie Curie
  • Parkinson’s
  • The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
  • Alzheimer’s Research
  • Great Western Air Ambulance Charity
  • Leukaemia UK
  • Motor Neurone Disease Association

The pack includes a yellow Confidential Declaration Form that acts as your Free Will voucher. You then present that voucher to us and we will draft your will for free in accordance with your instructions. We will also make sure that the will is properly executed (signed and witnessed) so that it is legally valid.

The gift you make to the charity is at your discretion. Some people make a gift of a specified amount of money, while others leave the charity a percentage share of their estate.

When the will has been finalised we will contact the National Free Wills Network to let them know it has been completed. We will also offer to store your will for you in our strongroom at no charge.

You can visit us at any of our four offices in Devon. These are situated in Barnstaple, Bideford, South Molton and Braunton.
