Slee Blackwell’s Wills Team Praised By Leading Cancer Charity

The South West Legacy Manager for Cancer Research UK has praised Slee Blackwell’s “amazing contribution” to beating cancer through the Charity’s free Will scheme.

Since joining the Charity’s initiative we have undertaken 88 wills, with 66 of our generous clients including a gift to Cancer Research UK. The average pledge of £11,147 is significantly higher than the national average of £7,000.
This has resulted in a total of £735,722 promised to the Charity, with 80p in every £1 being invested into research.
At some time in our lives nearly all of us have been touched by cancer, so a gift to Cancer Research UK in our Will is an important way to help beat this terrible disease.
Over a third of the research carried out by Cancer Research UK is funded by gifts people leave to the Charity in their Wills. These gifts enable the Charity to commit to long-term research which will lead to new tests, treatments and cures. Indeed since the 1980’s, over half a million lives have been saved due to research by the Charity, so progress is being made.
Slee Blackwell are proud to participate in Cancer Research UK’s Free Will Service. If you are eligible under the terms of the scheme, the Charity will either pay for your Will or make a maximum contribution towards the cost of the Will. Whilst there is no obligation to leave a gift to Cancer Research UK, if you do, you will help write an end to cancer. You can even state that you would like your gift to be spent in a specific way, perhaps towards research into a specific cancer type or in your local area.
The £735,722 pledged to date does not take into account donations and gifts from clients outside the scheme. So we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to you all.
