Nightwalk is the Hospice’s annual ladies moonlight walk along the Tarka Trail. It is North Devon’s biggest fundraising event in terms of scale and funds raised, and is scheduled to take place on Saturday 18th May this year.
The walk features routes of 3, 7 and 11 miles, so you can pick the one that suits you best. It finishes in both Barnstaple and Bideford, with participants choosing which direction they want to walk in.
Last year, 1,200 ladies took part. They were supported by 175 volunteers. The event raised a staggering £110,000 for the Hospice, helping them care for local people affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
To celebrate North Devon Hospice’s 35th anniversary, this year’s event has a 1980’s theme. We therefore expect to see plenty of leg warmers, big hair and shoulder pads, not to mention the slogan T Shirts!
If you wish to get involved then just go to the North Devon Hospice website. Registration is only £15 with an Early Bird offer which is available until 1st April. After that date registration is £20.
Watch out for the Slee Blackwell team on the 18th May.
