Divorce solicitors in North Devon, Slee Blackwell, look at minimising the impact of divorce on children.
Sir Nicholas Wall, President of the Family Division, has raised concerns about separating parents who involve children in their own personal disputes.
He is quoted as saying:
“Parents, in my experience, often find it difficult to understand that children both love and have loyalty to both parents. There is nothing worse, for most children, than for their parents to denigrate each other… each parent represents 50% of the child’s gene pool.”
He went on to say:
“If a child is made to feel by one parent that the other parent is worthless then that child’s sense of self worth can be irredeemably damaged. Parents simply do not realise the damage they do to their children by the battles they wage over them”.
When our family law specialists deal with a divorce or separation involving children, they always so so sympathetically and with compassion. We know that any judge will have the welfare of those children at the forefront of their mind when considering the case.
We have four offices in North Devon, as well as offices in Tiverton, Exeter and Taunton.
