Preparing an Inheritance Tax account

Specialist North Devon solicitors offering fixed fee help with preparing an Inheritance Tax account (IHT 400).

Do you need help preparing an Inheritance Tax account (IHT400) for a loved one who has died?

Inheritance Tax accounts, also called IHT400, can seem very daunting to prepare. Our team of probate lawyers are experienced in preparing these accounts and completing the necessary forms.

We can deal with this complex aspect of estate administration and complete the IHT 400 using the figures that you provide us with. We can ensure that all available tax exemptions and allowances are claimed, which can reduce the amount of inheritance tax that has to be paid — or even avoid the need to pay any tax at all.

We have two fixed fee options that are available:

Fixed fee review

If you have prepared your own IHT400 and would like our experts to check that the right allowances and exemptions have been claimed, then we can assist you with this on a fixed fee  basis. For a fixed sum of just £185 + VAT we will carry out a review of your paperwork. If we feel that any amendments or advice are required in order to take full advantage of the available allowances and exemptions then our lawyers can provide you with a quote for the work that is required.

Fixed fee IHT 400 Inheritance Tax account account preparation service

Alternatively if you have all the figures but are not sure where to start, we can prepare the IHT400 for you and submit the probate application for a fixed fee of £1,250 + VAT.

If you would like to arrange a meeting with one of our lawyers to discuss your requirements then please give us a call. We can meet with you in any of our North Devon offices (Barnstaple, South Molton, Braunton and Bideford) or we can do the initial appointment via telephone, Zoom or Teams. We also offer home visits for a small additional charge.
