Since joining the free wills scheme in 1999 our specialist will writing lawyers have helped Cancer Research UK generate 162 pledges, with a combined value exceeding £2.5 million.
The average pledge has had a value of more than £14,000, with 91% of clients taking part in the free will scheme leaving a gift to Cancer Research UK.
The charity has the vision of bringing about a world where we can lead longer and better lives, free from the fear of cancer. It specifically aims to eliminate certain types of cancer, prevent cancers from developing, help those who have been diagnosed to be successfully treated, and to improve cancer treatments so that they are kinder and more targeted.
At the heart of Cancer Research UK’s work is the concept of ‘Hope’:
- the hope of discovering more about what causes cancer;
- the hope that discoveries will improve our understanding of how cancer affects our bodies;
- the hope that more people will be able to live well with the disease where a cure is not yet an option; and
