Cancer Research UK free Will solicitors Slee Blackwell are proud to be a participating partner
Slee Blackwell are proud to be one of the participating Cancer Research UK free Will solicitors. The service is open to anyone 18+ in the UK.
We have been one of the charity’s nationwide partnered solicitors for many years and have helped many people write or update their Wills.
Most people who use the service leave a gift to Cancer Research UK. Their support is helping to beat cancer for future generations. You can read about the marvellous work Cancer Research UK does here.
Making a Will has never been more important and it can be a false economy not to have one. If you die without making a Will then the Government will decide who receives your property and this might not be who you assume it is.
In addition, making a Will allows you to make provision for your loved ones’ future security. You can appoint guardians for dependant children and plan your finances to mitigate the threat of care home fees.
Cancer Research UK also promote the tax savings that can be made by making a Will. Currently (April 2020) if your estate is worth more than £325,000, inheritance tax may have to be paid at 40%.  This can be reduced if you leave 10% or more of your estate to charity.
