Slee Blackwell Supporting Will Aid

Slee Blackwell has supported Will Aid for the last five years. November 2013, saw Will Aid celebrate its 25th anniversary. Slee Blackwell’s Braunton, Bideford, South Molton and Barnstaple offices raised over £6,000 to support last year’s Will Aid campaign.

Slee Blackwell Solicitors support Will Aid in Devon

The Will Aid campaign funds nine charities in total, ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

The Will Aid campaign is very straightforward. We draft the Will, as directed by the client, as normal, and make sure it is correctly executed. However, we do not make a charge for the service. Instead, the client is asked to make a donation to Will Aid to support the nine charities. Donations start at £90 for a simple Will.

Slee Blackwell supports this campaign every November, and it is proving more and more popular each year.
We can only draft straightforward Wills under the scheme. If any further advice or more complicated drafting is required, we will discuss additional costs with the client.

More often than not, we have found that the promotion of this campaign every year encourages those who have been putting off making a Will to come forward. It is one of those jobs at the end of a very long list that can often get overlooked. By making your Will using the Will Aid scheme, not only is your Will professionally drafted, signed and witnessed correctly, but you are also making a donation to charity in the process.

Slee Blackwell store all Wills for free (something that some banks and unqualified will writers charge for). We also send our clients a copy of the Will to keep at home and refer to as and when their circumstances change.
