Kara Shaw is a solicitor in our contentious probate team. She achieved a first-class law degree from the University of the West of England before completing her training contract and qualifying as a solicitor in September 2025. During her training, Kara developed a strong passion for contentious probate and helping clients navigate sensitive and complex inheritance disputes.
Kara advises on a wide range of contentious probate matters, including challenges to the validity of wills, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, executor and trustee disputes, and claims brought under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA). She acts for both claimants and defendants, delivering clear, pragmatic advice, and has a compassionate approach to resolving disputes.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys surfing, practising yoga, and exploring the countryside with her dog.
