Heading up our specialist medical negligence team, Oliver is a highly experienced lawyer who is ranked in both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners UK Guide.

In June 2023 Oliver had the honour of being appointed to the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel. AvMA (Action Against Medical Accidents) is an independent patient safety charity that was set up in 1982 to provide advice and support to patients and their families who have been affected by a medical accident.

Oliver’s successes include a £2m settlement for an elderly woman who suffered a brain injury following cancer surgery, as well as six-figure settlement for a woman who underwent vaginal mesh surgery.

Oliver routinely deals with high value cases and has dealt with claims where compensation has exceeded £1m, including a £6.5m settlement for a girl who suffered a brain injury at birth, a £4m settlement for a young boy with cerebral palsy. More recently he negotiated a multi-million pound settlement package for an aspiring Olympic athlete who required a below knee amputation resulting from a failure to diagnose septic arthritis. With the assistance of funding obtained by Oliver his client is now making a name for himself as a Paralympian.

Oliver, who successfully achieved justice for hundreds of British PIP breast implant victims in the French courts, is a campaigning lawyer who fights in particular for the rights of mothers and babies who have been let down by our maternity services.
