Kendall House - Child Abuse Compensation Claims

Church of England care home, Kendall House in Gravesend, Kent was an establishment run for the care of young girls from the 1970’s.  It was closed down in 1986 following allegations of physical abuse, sexual abuse and psychological abuse and the needless drugging of the teenage girls staying there.

Provision of Services Regulations 2009 checklist for businesses

The Provision of Services Regulations 2009 came into force on 28 December 2009. The Regulations apply to the majority of private sector businesses in the UK. They apply to business-to-business and business-to-consumer services.

The Regulations impose obligations on businesses to make certain information available to customers, and to deal with customer complaints promptly. They also prohibit discrimination against individual customers in the provision of services on the basis of their place of residence.

Most businesses selling services (rather than goods) are affected by the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, which came into force on 1 January 2010.

A not-for-profit enterprise such as a playgroup or community centre can already be constituted in a number of ways, but all the choices have drawbacks. Trusts and sole enterprises leave founders personally exposed if things go wrong, charities have to meet strict tests and bear a heavy regulatory burden, and the public, especially donors, are uneasy about the profit motive of a limited company.

Slee Blackwell Move to New Purpose-Built Premises in South Molton

Slee Blackwell Solicitors are leaving their offices in South Street, South Molton to move to new purpose-built offices at Lime Court, Pathfield Business Park, South Molton. The move will take place on 2nd November and the firm is holding an open day on 21st November.
