Slee Blackwell celebrates success in Chambers UK 2027
We are delighted that Slee Blackwell has once again been recognised as a leading firm in the Chambers UK Guide 2027. This year’s results include departmental recognition for both our Clinical Negligence and Family/Matrimonial teams, alongside individual rankings for lawyers across the firm.
These rankings reflect the specialist expertise within Slee Blackwell and, just as importantly, the professionalism, compassion and commitment to clients that underpin our work every day.
What is Chambers UK 2027?
Chambers has been likened to the “Michelin Guide” for the UK legal sector. It is published annually by the research company Chambers and Partners, and is highly regarded in the profession as an independent guide to the best law firms, solicitors, and barristers across the United Kingdom.
Clinical Negligence retains ranking
Our Clinical Negligence team has retained its ranking, recognising the team’s established reputation and experience in complex and sensitive clinical negligence claims.
Chambers highlights the team’s broad experience, including birth and brain injury claims, rectopexy mesh claims and representation at inquests.
The feedback accompanying the 2027 rankings is something we are particularly proud of. One respondent said:
“Slee Blackwell punch well above their weight. The solicitors are exceptional. They are knowledgeable, efficient, hard-working, realistic and thoroughly personable. You would be hard pushed to find a more impressive team. They work tirelessly to get the best results for their clients, even in the most difficult of cases and circumstances.”
Another respondent praised the firm’s detailed understanding of clinical negligence litigation, describing the department as having an “impressive depth and breadth of expertise”, while maintaining consistently high levels of service.
Individual recognition for our Clinical Negligence lawyers
The departmental ranking is complemented by individual recognition for Caroline Webber-Brown, Oliver Thorne and Clarissa Ellerington.

Further feedback highlights Clarissa’s professionalism, compassion, pragmatism and strategic approach to complex cases.
A first Chambers ranking for our Family Law team
We are delighted that our Family team has achieved a departmental ranking for the first time in Chambers UK 2027.
Chambers describes Slee Blackwell as housing a specialist Family team with expertise across a wide range of private family law disputes. The team regularly advises on divorce and financial remedy proceedings, often involving complex assets, and is also recognised for its work in children cases, including matters involving parental alienation.
The feedback published alongside the ranking highlights the team’s client-focused approach, preparation and responsiveness. One respondent said:
“The family department care about their clients and want the best for them. They are always approachable and are very well prepared.”
Other respondents praised the team as “responsive, quick and reliable” and highlighted its “clear and thorough work with an obvious focus on the client’s needs”.
This first departmental ranking is an important milestone and reflects the strength, development and dedication of our Family team.
The Family team’s departmental ranking is complemented by individual recognition for Jen Law, whose practice focuses principally on divorce and financial remedy proceedings, including cases involving complex pension and farming assets.
The Chambers feedback reflects Jen’s formidable advocacy, dedication and commitment to her clients.
One respondent said:
“Jen is a force of nature. She’s formidable and absolutely someone you want in your corner.”
Further feedback describes Jen as “an exceptionally skilful and dedicated solicitor who always goes the extra mile for her clients”.
Respondents also emphasised her consistent client care, noting that Jen ensures her clients are supported at every stage of the process.
Recognition across Slee Blackwell
The Chambers UK 2027 results represent recognition at both team and individual level, but the achievements extend beyond the names appearing in the rankings.
Behind every complex case is a wider team working together to support our clients. The Chambers feedback repeatedly recognises qualities we value highly as a firm: technical expertise, strategic thinking, responsiveness, professionalism and compassion.
These results are testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved.
Congratulations to all our recognised lawyers and to the wider teams whose work has contributed to a fantastic Chambers UK 2027 result.
