Slee Blackwell partner meets executive chef of the Lympstone Manor hotel at the launch of the Calvert Trust Exmoor Business Club.

Clinical negligence lawyer Oliver Thorne attends charity launch hosted by celebrity chef Michael Caines of Lympstone Manor

The launch of the prestigious Calvert Trust Exmoor Business Club was hosted by one of the Trust’s ambassadors; the award winning chef at Lympstone Manor hotel, Mr Michael Caines MBE.

The Calvert Trust is a wonderful charity whose mission is to “…enable people with disabilities to achieve their potential through the challenge of adventurous activities in the countryside.

The Trust relies solely on donations and fundraising in order to survive and is a charity closely linked to the work of Slee Blackwell partner, Oliver Thorne, who is head of our medical negligence department. Oliver and his team represent people with varying degrees of disability, including brain injuries, spinal injuries and people who have undergone limb amputations.

Commenting on the work of the charity, Oliver said:
I found my recent visit to the Calvert Trust Exmoor a humbling experience. The facilities are wonderful and there is wide range of activities for people with varying degrees of disability to take part in. It was also an honour to meet with Michael Caines, who is executive chef of the Lympstone Manor hotel in East Devon and a big supporter of the Trust.
