In 1996 James left the dark satanic mills of Yorkshire for the sunnier climes of Exeter University where he fell in love with the West Country and has remained ever since. One of the original marketing team behind the launch of Red Bull, James joined Slee Blackwell as a paralegal in 2001. Qualifying in 2004 he is now a key member of the firm’s personal injury department and in the last 12 months has recovered compensation in excess of £ ½ million for his clients. A music lover and undisputed champion of the pub quiz his favourite fact is that the moon smells of fireworks.
In February 2007 the Devon and Exeter Law Society named James as their Young Solicitor of the Year.
In November 2008 James was named a "Pro Bono Hero" by Attorney General Baroness Scotland for his work on the free legal advice site www.doyourselfjustice.co.uk
