Young solicitor gains recognition for giving help to the man on the street
LAW firm Slee Blackwell was celebrating this week as James McNally was named Young Solicitor of the year by the Devon and Exeter Law Society. Mr McNally studied law at Exeter University before joining Slee Blackwell in 2001 in the firm’s personal injury department.
Mr McNally said: “To receive an award for something I enjoy doing seems slightly undeserved, though obviously a great honour. Slee Blackwell is a wonderful place to work and it is a job I love.” Mr McNally was also given the accolade in the recognition of his work to make the legal process more accessible to the man in the street. In addition to explaining developments in articles for the Journal and on local radio he has set up a free website offering advice and guidance on the small claims court as well as employment and family law issues. Slee Blackwell partner Lee Dawkins said: “James was nominated following high praise from his clients and colleagues.
“Over the last 12 months he has shown huge commitment and determination to the firm while at the same time providing his clients with a very personal and effective service.”
