We have succeeded in recovering compensation on behalf of two people who suffered accidents at Primark in Romford, Essex.

A Barnstaple woman who suffered a fractured wrist and head injury when she caught her foot in a pavement pothole in Torrington, North Devon in November 2011 has won nearly £10,000 in compensation.

Karen Utley, who lives in West Yelland, near Barnstaple was getting out of a friend’s car in Mill Street, Torrington when she tripped and fell.  She sustained a fracture to her wrist as well as head injuries.

David Vogler, a maintenance engineer with Atlas Packaging in Barnstaple, North Devon, suffered leg and hip injuries in January 2011 when metal storage racking he was helping to assemble at work collapsed. Staff shortages led to his manager trying to assemble the racking with assistance from just Mr Vogler and a young trainee who had been employed by the company for only 3 days, instead of the usual team of 4 experienced workers. No mechanical lifting equipment was provided by Atlas and the assembly was at ceiling height when it collapsed without warning.

A Torrington rugby fan has secured compensation for personal injury suffered in a London pub.  John Pledger of Torrington, North Devon was at the Barmy Arms in Twickenham with his family, having a quiet pint after watching a rugby match in December 2009.  He went to use the gents and slipped on water on the floor, suffering tendon damage to his right knee.

A Bideford man who suffered back injuries in a motorcycle crash in February 2009 has secured compensation of nearly £40,000 at Exeter county court from Devon County Council.  Graham Mills, a former member of the Parachute Regiment, who lives in Lanefield Road, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle along Abbotsham road, just by the former Grenville College.  He rode through what he thought was a puddle, but which hid a large pothole, and was thrown from the bike.

Mr David Machin is making a miraculous recovery from a severe head injury that almost killed him last November.  He was working at the South Molton premises of South West Metals Ltd when he was hit on the back of the head by a bolt that had sheared off from the jib of a grabber crane, which a fellow worker had accidentally swung into a metal post.
